The Farmington High School C.A.R.E. (Caring And Reaching Everyone) Club began their 2nd Annual Prom Dress Drive to support The Fairy God Foundation on Wednesday, March 1, announced Executive Director Stephen M. Wayne and C.A.R.E. sponsor Susan Smith.
C.A.R.E. is accepting donations of gently worn formal dresses, shoes, and accessories suitable for high school proms through Wednesday, March 8. The C.A.R.E. dress drive continues a partnership formed last year with The Fairy God Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides free dresses, flowers, hair styling, and other accompaniments of prom to needy students in five counties in Appalachian Kentucky.
Donations may be taken to the Main Office at Farmington High School, or those interested in donating may contact Director of Development Emily Darnbrook at edarnbrook@fairygodfoundation.org. For more information, visit www.fairygodfoundation.org.
The Foundation was co-founded by Farmington resident Stephen Wayne and Marilyn Feltner of Hyden, Ky. Other local connections include staff members Emily Darnbrook and Kevan Ventura of Farmington Hills, and Martha Dobbs, of Farmington.
